The word “disability” often evokes a number of thoughts, assumptions and feelings in people, depending on their background and experiences. Let’s talk about some common misconceptions and ideas about disability here at the University of Illinois, and how you can help navigate the policies and understanding of the manifestation of ability so you can be the best ally you can for your students! We’ll have some time set aside for questions and answers so you can have an opportunity for us to problem-solve some specific situations you have encountered-or wonder if you will encounter!
