What do you like best about being part of NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising? Could it be the opportunity to talk with others about their passion for our profession? How about enjoying the diversity of our membership and exchanging information about experiences with students and colleagues? Whatever gives you the most joy, I can promise that you will be energized by participating in NACADA’s Emerging Leaders Program.
Whether you are a seasoned advisor or just starting out, this program could benefit you. During the past six years, colleagues have connected in a variety ways, enjoying the exploration of opportunities within NACADA as well as helping move our association and profession forward. If this sounds like something you are looking for right now in your professional life, won’t you please visit our website for more information? http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/Events-Programs/Emerging-Leaders-Program.aspx
I encourage you to peruse the different links on the page and find out what the Emerging Leaders Program is all about.
Applications are being accepted for both Mentors and Emerging Leaders. You will find great information on this site and may even know someone who has participated in the past who can answer specific questions. If not, please feel free to email me at Carol.Pollard@unt.edu. I will be happy to respond.
Emerging Leaders have accomplished a great deal since the program’s inception and are currently serving NACADA in a number of different leadership positions. Our fifth class of Emerging Leaders will celebrate completion of the program at this year’s Annual Conference in Salt Lake City, and we look forward to recognizing them for a job well done. On our website you’ll find the application, the expectations and requirements for the program, as well as some testimonials from Mentors and Emerging Leaders.
The applications deadline is March 15, 2013, so don’t delay!
Take care and I wish you all the best,
Carol Pollard
